    Designated as a nationally significant heritage district-one of only three large thatched-roof settlements-it contains many traditional thatched-roof houses, with some as old as 220 years.
     
    Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park (Includes cable car)*
    Amanohashidate or "bridge of heaven" is a sand bar said to resemble a meandering pathway connecting heaven and earth when viewed from the mountains at either end of the bay. One of the most gorgeous sights of Japan.
     
    Ine Funaya Cruise*
    A scenic fishing village with its unique funaya boat houses, which are traditional waterfront buildings consisting of a boat garage at the lower floor and a residential space on the upper
    floor. Today, over 200 funaya remain along the bay.
